Dr Ana Claudia de Castro Lima, a Brazilian medical doctor, Jungian psychotherapist, and interdisciplinary researcher, brings over 30 years of experience in geriatric and clinical medicine, mental health, and holistic care. Her professional journey, deeply rooted in the rich cultural, artistic, and spiritual heritage of Alagoinhas, Bahia, is a testament to her commitment to inclusive and human-centred approaches to health.
Dr Ana's medical career, which began at the age of 22, has been characterised by a strong commitment to interdisciplinary, compassionate care. Her work in Geriatrics and Gerontology, coupled with her studies in Jungian Psychology, and her service in public hospitals in Brazil, including Obras Assistenciais Irmã Dulce and the Sarah Network of Rehabilitation Hospitals, is a testament to her dedication and unwavering vision.
In 2019, Dr Ana Lima made a bold shift, leaving her clinical role to pursue an international academic path focused on integrating the mind-body-spirit connection into healthcare. In 2021, she moved to London and completed a Master's degree with Distinction in Creative Arts and Mental Health at Queen Mary University of London. She also undertook a year of study in Dance and Movement Psychotherapy, further expanding her interest in expressive and somatic approaches to wellbeing.
She is also the developer of the Axis Method, a holistic model that brings together medical knowledge, psychological insight, creative practice, and spiritual awareness to support individual and collective flourishing. In addition to her clinical and psychotherapeutic work, Ana serves as a collaborative researcher with the Flourishing Spaces project at Queen Mary University of London. This initiative explores how medical education and healthcare environments can be reimagined to support wellbeing, creativity, and connection among students, staff, and patients. Dr Gláucia Cilene de Castro Lima Bonet
Born in Alagoinhas, a city in the interior of Bahia (Brazil), where she lived until entering university. Married and mother of three children, she has lived in Portugal for 29 years. With a solid foundation in Psychiatry, she graduated from the Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health in 1991. Her expertise was further honed during her medical internship at the Juliano Moreira Psychiatric Hospital. She equivalenced her Medical Degree at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences in Porto and has been registered with the South Section of the Medical Association in Portugal since 1996. Her thirst for knowledge and dedication to her field led her to complete postgraduate studies in "Addictions" at Nova University of Lisbon and in "Psychopathology" at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon. Her training in various psychotherapeutic approaches, including “Transpersonal Psychology,” “Clinical Hypnosis,” “EMDR,” “Family Therapy and Systemic Approach,” and “Psychodrama,” showcases her commitment to staying abreast of the latest developments in Psychiatry. As a senior Assistant Psychiatrist in the Hospital Medical Career at Hospital Nossa Senhora do Rosário and a dedicated private practitioner, she has demonstrated her clinical skills. Her leadership qualities are further evident in her role as Director of the Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health at the Arco Ribeirinho Local Health Unit (ULSAR) since 2017.
