About Us
We, Ana Lima and Gláucia Lima, founded Mental Health Worldwide in November 2024.
Drawing on our extensive expertise in mental health, we combine years of experience in psychotherapy, psychiatry, geriatrics, brain injury neurorehabilitation, emotional healing, and creative approaches to well-being and integral health. Together, we offer profound insights into trauma, emotional abuse, and recovery, empowering individuals to transition from merely surviving to truly thriving.
Mental health is an increasingly urgent global concern, with significant disparities in how it is addressed across different regions. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately one in eight people worldwide live with a mental health disorder, such as depression, anxiety, or substance abuse, for instance. Factors like poverty, conflict, and stigma often exacerbate the issue, hindering access to mental health care.
The global mental health crisis has sparked calls for systemic reform, with international organisations advocating for mental health to be prioritised within global health agendas.
Our work is grounded in the belief that mental healthcare should include diverse perspectives. We understand that healing goes beyond merely treating symptoms—it involves fostering a balanced and enriched life. Our goal is to create solutions that focus on clinical outcomes while nurturing personal growth, emotional resilience, and empowerment.
With our varied background, spanning clinical practice, psychiatric institution management, academic research, spirituality and the creative arts, we are committed to advancing a holistic approach to tackling mental health challenges. We seek to explore how diverse disciplines can collaborate beyond conventional treatment paradigms to generate integrated and more meaningful outcomes.
Ultimately, we aim to foster a global dialogue on mental health, offering fresh perspectives that support the well-being of individuals and communities.
